Mission Statement

Grounded in our experience as queer women in comedy, we investigate the nuances of Liv and Cori’s shifting power dynamic within the insular, male-dominated world of stand-up comedy.

The Story

Two Lesbians Walk into A Bar...

is a short film adaptation based on our sold-out theatrical production, which ran at Caveat NYC through January 2026!

Two Lesbians Walk into A Bar... follows young, emerging stand-up Liv Sanders, who approaches her famous yet career-stalled comedy hero, Cori Rafferty, hoping for a job. Instead, she lands drinks alone with Cori. Liv and Cori’s night evolves from a professional mentorship into a romance, leaving Liv with a rare opportunity.

This queer dark comedy investigates power dynamics and ambition within the insular, male-dominated world of stand-up comedy.

Our team is currently in pre-production—finalizing the script, securing locations, and assembling a phenomenal cast and crew.

After a sold-out production run in September 2025, Two Lesbians Walk into a Bar... was extended in January 2026 due to popular demand!

We had another sold-out run in January 2026 and are now taking the story to film!

Our team is eager to create a dark comedy that explores the morally ambiguous nature of mentorship, ambition, and romance.

Creator's note:

I have a tremendous amount of respect for stand-up comedians. Stand-up is scary because you’re all alone. And a lot of the time, people don’t laugh.

Two Lesbians Walk into A Bar… included a lot of hands-on research— classes, shows, interviews, open mics, and horrific joke writing. As I fell in love with comedy, I experienced my first big lesbian heartbreak. So obviously I had to write about it.

love,

dorothea
