The Story
The Story:
A pair of socks are tragically separated in a New York laundromat and end up in the wardrobes of two strangers. In their little quest to reunite, will these cotton soulmates possibly bring together very human ones?
The film is a heartfelt Queer Romcom a lighthearted exploration of questions of fate, the cosmos, and the strange forces that bring us together or pull us apart. Told through puppetry, stop-motion, and live-action, music and dance. It’s for the hopeless romantic and the cynic. For those who ponder if the things we can't control are woven into fate's tapestry or if we’re merely atoms dancing in chaos. We’re raising $20-25K to fund the cast, crew, practical effects, and animation to make this world come to life. A love story may seem cliché, but the yearning for genuine connection and the mystery of finding it is universal- be it romantic or otherwise. Are great pairings written in the stars or completely random? Can this question be answered?
Inspired Aristophanes’ Origin of Love, and Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The narrative storytelling of beloved classics like Disney’s Johnny Fedora and Alice Bluebonnet and 101 Dalmatians. Two Socks explores themes of connection, completion, and destiny in the most unexpected places.
The envision this film this extravagant DIY spectacle is something akin to Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet meets Michel Gondry's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, with heart, charm, and striking visuals, of course.
