Mission Statement

The Under the Lights short changed epilepsy stigma forever. Fans still send fan art and fan fiction every day. 1 in 26 people have epilepsy, and with this feature, we are aiming to end the brutal stigma that keeps us silent with a heart-warming story that creates empathy for our shared humanity.

The Story

My name is Miles, I am a Writer/Director. I'm turning my lived experience with epilepsy into a story we've never seen, in an effort to make the world a better place. It can only happen with your help! Help us raise our finishing funds.

Who is on Board?

Produced by Independent Spirit Award Nominee Natalie Metzger (Thunder Road, Greener Grass, Werewolves Within) and Vanishing Angle, who's films play and win the top festivals in the world every year.

And we're excited to team up with UCB, who are proud to help us defeat epilepsy stigma with this feature film.

Under the Lights is the recipient of the Tribeca Untold Stories Fan Favorite Award, a top placement in the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, and the Grand Prize Winner of the Screen Craft Film Fund. Watch our winning Tribeca award video HERE

The largest campaign against epilepsy stigma in history.

Epilepsy affects 1 in 26 people. Most are 'closeted' for fear that they'll be unemployable or socially exiled if they speak up - and to be frank, they're often correct to think so. Unemployment is estimated at 50%, and suicide 3-5x the national average. There is no cure for seizures, but empathy is medicine for cruelty. With a feature film based in universal truths, we can create enough public empathy to fix this.

We are raising money to close our budget so that we can make something really, really special. This movie provides a blueprint to the world that proves how disabled filmmakers can make great movies.

The feature is based on our award winning short (below) - which generated a staggering following of fans. This feature film will be an instant classic for millions. It's a family film with universal themes that will resonate with anyone that has ever felt alone, or misunderstood.

The Award Winning Short
