The Story
Welcome to the world of Violet Glamour! I began making music in 2021 after a particularly nasty breakup, where the only way to process my feelings was to turn them into art. What I thought would be a one off single that I released "as a bit" became something I fell MADLY in love with. After all, I've been surrounded by music since I was small. Singing and performing are what I've always been drawn to; music is there during the good, the bad, and the magical. Its a way I've felt seen when I've felt alone, and my very best memories are most often scored by my favorite songs.

Which leads us to 2026. I've released 4 singles over the last 4 years, and now, we're gearing up for something much bigger. Currently I am working on my debut EP, GIRL ON SCREEN. Originally, the plan was to release a full 11-track debut album, but through the writing and development process, Hannah and I (along with my music producer Ian), began to realize that with 5 very special tracks, a fully cohesive plot was beginning to appear. So, one night after rehearsal, I turned to Hannah and asked the question "Is this a film?". And voila! We are creating a visual EP/short film!

What's next? Well, we're already deep in production! Hannah and I have DIY'd our way through shooting the first two tracks/music videos, which I have entirely self funded. She and I are gay, scrappy, and insane, which means that we have been making all our costumes, building sets, and making sure that every dollar spent makes a difference on screen. We are currently crowdfunding the rest of the project, which includes 3 more music videos, plus the connective footage that will string together the plot line of these videos. Every dollar we raise will show up on screen or in the final audio mix. We are savvy and ambitious, and we are here to make the absolute best project possible.

Why so into visuals? I'm a musical theatre and film kid at heart, and being able to move an audience not only sonic-ly, but with powerful visuals, is what excites me most. The acting and storytelling we get to achieve through film means we get to go so much deeper with these stories, from costume choices to choreography to acting beats. Taking this visual EP and transforming it into a short film will provide both of us with a really unique opportunity, at the intersection of our career goals across music, media, and film. For myself, it give me the chance to flex and grow my muscles as an actor and musician. I've grown so much from this project already, and I'm really excited to continue this journey. For Hannah, it allows her to dust off her old devised theatre skills, and build a cohesive narrative around my music. By the end of this, we will also have a piece that we are proud of when submitting to festivals. This is a test run in creating original musicals for the screen!

We have been able to get this far because we have really amazing friends who have believed in us, and donated their time and energy by being actors, PA's, marketing strategists, art department, and a myriad of other roles. But to get this over the finish line, we need some capital that, as the person entirely self funding it, I do not currently have available to me. By hitting our main goal, I'll be able to secure the rest of our locations, production insurance, cast, post production, and art + costuming costs. Anything past our goal lets me pay for not only the final mix and masters of the track, but also the ability to pay my friends/crew who have (currently and graciously) agreed to work for free. They are fabulous, and I'd like to pay them money.

I love making art more than anything in the world. This piece is incredibly special to me, and hopefully, it will mean something to people when it's released. Working on this with Hannah has been the pleasure of my life, and I am so excited to bring the rest of the vision to life.

About This Team
Valerie Rose Lohman (they/she) is an award winning actor based in Los Angeles, CA. They broke onto the scene playing Edith Finch in Annapurna Interactive’s What Remains of Edith Finch (BAFTA Nomination – Best Performance). The game swept awards across the globe, and garnered critical acclaim for Valerie – “Lohman’s vocal performance [is] a dream come true” (Bloody Disgusting).
Valerie’s work spans the stage, screen, and VO booth. Most well known for their work in voiceover, they have made their mark starring in AAA and indie games alike, with roles in What Remains of Edith Finch (Edith, BAFTA Nomination), Wolfenstein: Youngblood (Jessie Blazkowics/Bethesda), Wylde Flowers (Tara Wylde/Studio Drydock), Project Songbird (Dakota), Class of 09 (Emily), and Trails in the Sky (Jill Ridonor). Other favorite VO credits include Fujino in Look Back (Amazon Prime), Young Essie in The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep (Netflix), Rachel in Tower of God, Ishura (Disney+), Maboroshi and Ōoku: The Inner Chambers (Netflix). An accomplished audiobook narrator, Valerie has narrated over 45 titles in the YA, middle grade, and adult fiction realms!
They have appeared on-screen in Nickelodeon’s Game Shakers and Cousins for Life, and the films Flames, I Didn't Mean to Haunt You, Intrepid, One to Grow On, and She Comes in Colors Everywhere. Onstage, she is currently developing the lead role of Viola Bishop in the brand new queer pirate musical The Great Age of Sail, set to premier in LA later next year.
In addition to acting, Valerie is a musician and budding Producer. They perform under their witchy rock alter ego Violet Glamour, and will be releasing their debut EP, Girl On Screen, in Fall 2026.
Hanna Paquette (she/her): An LA transplant by way of Boston, Hannah Paquette is a filmmaker and theater artist fixated on the absurdity of grief and the art of adaptation. She received her devised playmaking training from the American Repertory Theater, and her BS in Television-Radio from Ithaca College. (yes, she spent thousands of dollars on a literal BS Television degree - a true commitment to the bit.) As an undergraduate, Hannah founded IC Second Stage, Ithaca’s first dramaturgy-driven director workshop to help other creatives navigate campus resources to execute fully realized theatrical productions. Hannah also created and produced ICTV’s first scripted mystery thriller, The Legend of South Hill. Her thesis short, Family Portrait, premiered at the Ocean City Film Festival in 2020. Previous theater directing credits include: Lizzie the Musical, Heathers the Musical, WordPLAY and Little Murders. She lives in West Hollywood with her fiancé and cat.
