The Story
Now that our film is 'in the can' we are doing a final push to reach our stretch goal for post-production and we're so close.
We have $1,400 left to raise to hire our animator! The animation is vital to our story as it brings the young girl's imagination to life and highlights the effect of the older brother's dismissive comments on the girl's imagination.
If you have not yet donated, this is the perfect time to make an impact toward the vibrant animation Invincible deserves.
If you've already donated, consider sharing this campaign with friends or family who care about female encouragement and empowerment.
We're so close. Thank you to this incredible community for the support we've received throughout our campaign.
Sincerely,
The Invincible Team

We were blown away by the outpouring of support we received from friends, family, and strangers who connected with our film's message. Your investment enabled us to hire crew members, actors, rent a camera, a rental van, gear and so much more.
Our small (but mighty) production team spent a day on a train in Connecticut where we captured our entire film!

Have you ever been told you're too loud? Too much? Too... you? These dismissive comments, jokes, or remarks may seem harmless but can actually cause emotional harm.
Invincible is a micro short-film that explores the damaging effects of seemingly insignificant remarks on a young girl's confidence, brought to life through live-action and 2D animation.
This film is for every person who’s been laughed at, dismissed, or discouraged for daring to believe in themselves.
The Invincible team is determined to bring this story to life—to shine a light on marginalized voices too often silenced by the world around them and to highlight the power of encouragement. We’ve made great progress: our gear and crew are ready, the location is locked, and post-production support is secured—but we need your help to get us over the finish line and into production.
Join us in making Invincible a reality—your gift moves us closer to production. Your donation is tax-deductible through our fiscal sponsor, From The Heart Productions (EIN: 95-4445418).
Invincible got to the final round of two different short-film competitions but wasn't selected for funding. While I was initially disappointed, I won't let that initial road block stop me. I believe in this story—because nearly every person I’ve shared it with has responded by sharing their own experience with dismissive comments, remarks, or jokes.
I cannot tell you how many passive/dismissive remarks I've encountered as a female director. Everything from "Aw, you want to direct, that's so cute!" or "Don't worry you'll change your mind once you want to start a family". As a female director in a male dominated industry, I have never believed in waiting for permission to become a director.

My directing journey hasn't been traditional (whose has?). Over the past seven years, I've worked my way up in commercial production in New York City and Los Angeles—production coordinating, managing, and producing commercials, music videos, and documentary series. At the same time, I was also creating my own opportunities to do the thing I was meant to do: direct.
My entire career, I have championed community over competition in the film industry and have been vocal about working with women on all of my productions. My goal through my creative work is to explore social issues in a digestible and entertaining way that increases empathy. I am determined to create films that increase representation both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
Most recently, I was selected for the Commercial Directors Diversity Program (CDDP), a highly selective program powered by the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) and the Directors Guild of America (DGA). I’ve directed award-winning music videos for companies like MusicBed and Atlantic Records and PSAs for organizations like Pro-Choice America—and now I am asking you to support my newest project: Invincible.

Our story follows a 13-year-old girl whose vibrant imagination is visualized through animation. When her passion is dismissed by her brother's comments, we witness her imagination physically dissolve on screen. A stranger offers her a small but powerful note of encouragement and the girl’s imagination is reignited.
Invincible doesn't just tell viewers about the impact of words—it shows them, using live-action and animation to create a visceral understanding that words can inspire as easily as they can damage.

Invincible was inspired by a real encounter. A few years ago, I sat across from a girl and her brother on a train. She spoke animatedly about her after-school program, a twinkle in her eye. Her brother repeatedly told her she was "being too loud" and that it was "just an after-school program". I watched her smile fade as she became quiet. I wrote her a note encouraging her to keep pursuing her passions and to keep being loud. The next day she emailed me a photo of that note taped to her bedroom wall.
That moment became the seed for this film, about what happens when the harm from a dismissive comment is interrupted—when someone chooses to encourage rather than silence. With the right encouragement, a child's creative spirit can become truly invincible—capable of withstanding future dismissals, and growing even stronger. Every child has a voice—they just need to feel encouraged to use it.
