Hey, I'm Jessica!

Los Angeles, California

Hey, it's me, Jes.

I'm one of those East-LA/Tuscon/Vegas-Mexican Filmakers. You know the type right?

After years of training to act on the stage, I finally did it. I made the move to New York, and I worked in the theatre for years before the thought started to creep in: "Maybe we aren't realizing our potential to make change." And so I morphed into the film world, first as an actor, then as a producer, and finally as a writer/director. I've learned so much along the way. And now I'm in LA, trying to be the best filmmaker I can be, while working to change the game for Latinos in Hollywood.

Here's the whole 'things I've done' thing:

Jessica is an alumni of the LAByrinth Theatre Co. Ensemble Workshop, T. Schreiber Studio, and The Freeman Studio in NYC. Her work has been featured in the NY Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Boston Globe. Her films have shown at festivals around the country, most recently selected to be one of 19 films cultivated from over 1,400 to be showcased at the Tribeca Film Center by the prestigious Downtown Urban Arts Festival in May of 2018.
