Hey, I'm Kurt!

Los Angeles, California

Kurt Kanazawa is most recognizable as Tad on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. Born in Los Angeles with family roots in Hawaii, his classically-trained baritone voice has been hailed by the New York Times and Opera News. He graduated from Harvard-Westlake High School, then Columbia University (BA-Visual Arts) in New York City, before continuing his graduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music (MM-Voice) with a President's Scholarship, and finally, The Juilliard School (GD-Vocal Arts). In August 2017, he made his screen acting debut in Italy as Ichiro on RAI1's Provaci ancora Prof!, averaging 4.3 million+ viewers and a 20% viewership share for the popular Italian Soap Opera. He is half-Japanese and half-Filipino, and his grandmother, Shimeji Kanazawa, is known as "The Florence Nightingale of Hawaii" for her wartime efforts as chief liaison between the Martial Law Government and the Japanese Civilian Internees, under the neutral Swedish Vice Consulate and subsequently awarded honors by the American Red Cross, an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Hawaii-Manoa, and appointments to the Committees on Aging by Presidents Reagan, Carter, and Clinton, respectively.
