Hey, I'm Maureen!
Denver, Colorado
12 years ago I joined the Peace Corps and moved to Madagascar. At the time I was a biologist, and I lived on the southwest coast of Madagascar working with a women's organization in my village and studying the impacts of climate change on the coral reef with the NGO, Reef Doctor. I saw firsthand how people were being impacted by climate change every day. It really hit me then that we all need to understand climate change as a human justice issue.
I love documentary films, and I've seen the positive impact films can have on the world. I've been developing my craft in documentary filmmaking since 2007. This film has been in my heart for most of that time, and I'm thrilled to finally be bringing it to life.
