The Story

This is a story that has haunted me for years, a story I’ve returned to again and again because it captures something I cannot stop thinking about: the way connection shapes us, how desperately we seek to be seen, and what it costs when the world offers only simulation.
A CURE FOR LONELINESS is born from that obsession, a short film I’ve poured my heart, my philosophy, and my craft into, exploring the darkest corners of desire, isolation, and authenticity through the lens of horror and thriller - the genres I love for their ability to confront the taboo and make us feel alive in the tension.
In a near-future world where companionship can be bought, programmed, and mimicked, a figure appears so desperate to feel seen, that we believe him human - and the one he pursues, we assume, is artificial. He crosses lines, challenges taboos, and risks everything to chase the singular truth: that to be truly known... is to be fully alive.
As the story unfolds, the twist forces the audience to confront the unsettling question: what does it really mean to be human, and what is real connection?

I’ve worked tirelessly on this story because, in many ways, it comes from the same questions I wrestle with in my own life: the fear of disconnection, the desire to be understood, and the struggle to find genuine connection in a world that increasingly replaces human interaction with screens, algorithms, and artificial comfort. Science fiction and horror/thriller have always been the genres that made me feel most seen because they allow us to explore deeply human truths through heightened worlds and unsettling ideas. This film is deeply personal to me because it channels those anxieties into something emotional, provocative, and honest.
And right now feels like the exact moment this story needs to exist. We are rapidly entering a future where AI is becoming our confidant, our therapist, our friend, even our companion. Loneliness is no longer abstract. It’s shaping how millions of people live every day. A CURE FOR LONELINESS asks what happens when technology becomes so emotionally convincing that we begin losing sight of what real connection actually means. And whether that connection is only limited to humanity.
This is a film for audiences who crave intelligent, elevated thrillers that linger long after the credits roll. Stories that disturb us not just because they are frightening, but because they feel possible. I want this film to spark conversation, reflection, and discomfort. I want to leave audiences questioning what it truly means to be human, to empathize, and to love.

This is where you come in! A CURE FOR LONELINESS is no longer just an idea - it’s already alive.
The bulk of filming has already been completed, and we’ve poured an enormous amount of passion, time, and independent effort into bringing this world to life. What started as a deeply personal concept has now become a tangible film with real momentum behind it. We still have a small amount of filming left to complete, followed by the most crucial stage of the process: post-production.
Some Behind The Scenes of what we've filmed so far:

This campaign is what allows us to finish the film at the level it deserves.
Independent filmmaking is an act of persistence, and one thing I pride myself on is my ability to move projects forward efficiently without compromising quality. My goal is not to let this film sit unfinished for years! My goal is to get this film in front of audiences this year.
Your support will directly help us elevate the film through editing, sound design, color grading, visual effects, score, and final delivery materials so we can create the most immersive and emotionally powerful version of the story possible.

- Visual effects

- Festival submissions
- Deliverables & distribution materials
Once the film is complete, the plan is to take it to high-end genre and international film festivals to find the right audience and the best distribution partner possible. More than anything, I want this film to be accessible. I want people to actually see it, connect with it, and discuss it.
And if we surpass our funding goal, every additional dollar goes directly back into making the film even stronger. We will be able to:
- Push the post-production quality even further
- Expand festival submissions and distribution outreach
- Invest more into visual effects and presentation
- Compensate collaborators who generously worked for free
- Create additional companion content connected to the world of the film
