Mission Statement
The Story
Lily and Marla are inseparable best friends and slam poetry partners who perform aggressively sexual poems despite barely having sex lives at all. When a fluke opening lands them a spot in DuoSlam (the regional competition with an agent as the grand prize) a local legend warns them that judges can sense when performers are faking sexual experience.
Panicked, the two spiral into a chaotic, intertwined sex-pedition that revolves around an Amish guy on his second Rumspringa and jeopardizes both their poetry careers and friendship.
We plan to tap into the DIY, collaborative spirit of the Brooklyn comedy community, creating a process and product that is joyous and showcases dozens of people’s unique talents. Our overarching goal is simple: for each scene to make us laugh.
The film is about two gross girls who are incapable of truly expressing themselves despite doing it on stage everyday. It aims to reflect this kind of weird Gen Z girlhood— apathetic and sexless, a generation obsessed with virality and terrified by the prospect of real human connection. For them, performing vulnerability is easier than actually being vulnerable. Their slam poetry is terrible, but it exorcizes demons they are too immature to face head on.
Though the project explores big themes, it’s also rooted in highly specific characters.

TLDR: This film is the thing that makes you believe there’s hope for the future when you’re 13 and browsing the Tubi aisle.
There's a cultural conversation happening about the "sex recession" ie: Gen Z having less sex than any generation in decades, performing sexual confidence online while being terrified of intimacy in person. This is the comedy version of that: a raunchy, big-swing premise (judges who can detect "erotic truth") that's really about the fear of being seen.
Our team is made up of people who’ve worked across the film, theatre, TV, and Brooklyn alt-comedy community. We are passionate about making things that are LEGITIMATELY FUNNY and operate with comedy logic while still having heart.
Jacqueline and Bini (EPs, Writers, Stars) created the popular web series: Bushwick News Network alongside Dean Blizzard where they play Heather Cummings and Mimi Shabeem, a duo news team too raunchy for air. It has accrued over 9,000 follows on TikTok and over 1 million views + across all social media platforms. They also recently filmed a 25 minute pilot adaptation of the project.
Reid Pope (EP, Writer, Director) currently serves as Executive Producer, Showrunner, and Co-Creator of Going Down With Ella Yurman, a trans-led late-night television series and companion podcast. They’ve made over 35 episodes of the half-hour show, leading a team of transgender producers, writers, directors, editors, and crew through every stage of production. Their comedy work has been featured in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, PAPER, Teen Vogue, Jezebel, Them, and Vulture.
We are genuinely weird people who want to put other weird people onscreen at a time when beautiful, shiny people reign (and we have enough production experience under our belts to make that happen.)

REID POPE (EP, WRITER, DIRECTOR)
Reid Pope is a comedian & playwright whose work has been featured in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, PAPER, and Vulture. They are the Co-Creator, EP, and Head Writer of Going Down: a trans-led monthly comedy news show on Brooklyn public access (formerly Late Stage Live! which you can read about in Them, Jezebel, and Teen Vogue.) Reid’s short film, “Lesbian Jesus Is Pregnant With Vibes”, premiered at NewFest 2024. Reid’s TV project Old Queens won the 2023 ATX TV Festival Pitch Competition. Their short “Big Shit” was selected for the 2026 HollyShorts Comedy film festival. Jeremy O. Harris shortlisted Reid’s play amino^9 for the 2024 Yale Drama Prize. Bini Yamin is a stand-up comedian based in New York. She was a finalist in the ATX Pitch Fest in 2025 with her pilot co-written with her writing partner Sabrina Bhattacharya. JACQUELINE BLIZZARD (EP, WRITER, LEAD ACTOR)
Jacqueline Blizzard is a stand-up comedian and improviser in NYC! You can see her performing stand-up and improvising every weekend! Her Instagram is @stinkyweirdgirl, but she’s actually a very nice-smelling, normal girl. Her dream is to make indie comedy movies with her friends.
ALICE DETTMER (EP, PRODUCER)
Alice Dettmer is a director and producer whose work ranges from indie narrative, to digital sketches, to live variety shows around the five boroughs of NYC. In addition to working as a production coordinator at Greyshack Films, she has produced multiple indie shorts with a focus on alternative comedy. CUCKS is her first feature as producer.
SABRINA BHATTACHARYA (EP, PRODUCER)
Sabrina Bhattacharya is a writer and producer based in New York. She started in Australia working for Perpetual Entertainment (EQ Media), writing coverage and building pitch decks. The writer’s room loved her work so much they had her edit the first two scripts for Troppo (Series 2). Back in the U.S., she interned at the City of Rochester’s Communications Bureau, where she wrote speeches, scripts, and proclamations for Mayor Malik D. Evans, edited ADR promos for The Appleton Ladies' Potato Race (2023), and somehow made municipal government sound cool on the radio. At Boston University, she launched the city’s first queer college radio show.
