The Story

Why We Believe in Harmony

As a diverse team with a variety of backgrounds and identities, we've found that Hollywood is not always the most welcoming place. People like us are still woefully underrepresented in media and entertainment, and it's often difficult to build a career - much less work on projects that challenge us as artists and creators. And now, more than ever, we need diverse voices telling stories about the importance of inclusion, acceptance, and working through our differences.

That's why we created Harmony.

Set in the near-future in the United States, Harmony is about a billionnaire entrepreneur named James who's launching a new tech company called Harmony. Amid rising societal tensions and violence between race, gender, and class, James wants to build a series of new communities that will, as he sees it, create more peace and harmony between communities. Tonight, to plan for next steps, James has gathered a diverse group of the brightest tech minds from his Stanford college days for an unforgettable dinner meeting.

One of those friends is Darrell and his wife, Mia. Fiercely outspoken and brilliant, Mia is a strong black woman and Ivy League-educated college professor who doesn't accept things at face value - especially ideas as audacious as Harmony. She's committed to questioning James' true intentions - and the seemingly blind eagerness of her friends - even if it causes tumult in her marriage.

Harmony is a sci-fi thriller that recalls The Handmaid's Tale, Black Mirror, and The Invitation - to name a few. A pilot that will lead into a full series on a major streaming service, Harmony will keep you on the edge of your seat - and leave you questioning just about everything.

Why We Need Your Support

Harmony is about a world where our differences are used to divide us, as opposed to unite us; where our identities are exploited to stoke fear and anger; and where technology is a tool to concentrate power, instead of decentralizing it. Sadly, this world isn't that far off - and that's why we need your support. Ultimately, Harmony is a call to action, a cautionary tale about what can happen when we don't work through our differences and build a more inclusive world.

That's why we need to make this project a reality, and we hope to earn your support!
