Mission Statement

I love the duality of knights: noble scholars, yet brutal warriors; pledged to honor and duty, but pulled by their human emotions. KNIGHTS & RELATIONSHIPS explores those tensions and contradictions that are both high concept enough to be compelling, yet personal and intimate enough to be relatable.

The Story

Knights & Relationships is a live-action short film (approximately six minute) based on the short comic by Swedish artist Oscar Westberg. The film is about two knights who have a chance encounter on the road one evening, and through their conversation we realize they have a lot of baggage to impact, which leads to potential conflict, peace, and their understanding of their places in the world.

What we love about this story is that it takes something high-concept — magical knights errant in a medieval fantasy world — and connects with very real, very human emotions and experiences. When we run into an ex, don't we all feel a bit like a knight in armor? On the defense, ready for a fight, but also hoping to maintain our pride and dignity, and leave in peace?

We have an amazing cast and crew of experienced industry professionals: check out our Team page and their IMDB listings and you’ll see that we are a team capable of delivering a top-quality film. Nobody on this show is green, but are all looking to make that next leap up in our careers, and we hope you’ll help us get there.

While the piece is high-concept, it’s also contained and achievable. Two actors, a few scenes, one location. We are raising money for production costs: we’ll be shooting in the northeast, so there will be some traveling, and lodging costs for cast and crew, our knights and set will need various props and costume pieces, and we’ll need to pay crew, rent equipment, feed everyone, and so on. Additional money raised will be to pay cast and crew more and for festival submission fees.
