Mission Statement

We believe the world needs more stories that reflect the complexities of modern relationships and the deep desire we all have to be understood. Your support helps amplify this kind of storytelling! Let’s finish this film together — because the world is better when we’re all, “Making Conversation”.

The Story

Making Conversation

A Romantic Comedy About Love, Friendship, & a Surprise Engagement Party Gone Wrong!

Are you a perfectionist? Do social situations make you anxious? Have you disagreed with a sibling? Then this film will make you feel seen! In “Making Conversation” we watch Aimee attempt to host the perfect, well almost, perfect surprise engagement party for her brother as all chaos breaks loose!

As an on-and-off perfectionist, I know what it’s like to feel the pressure of being the best at anything. Overachievers get the reputation of not being fun, and I’m going to show that we absolutely are the best at being fun! Almost 20 years ago I wrote the original version of this film because I was inspired by the hilarity of my friends and wanted to make something that reflected that spirit. Now, I can see fun in the flaws of being a 30-something and navigating adulthood! We all need laughter, recognition, and fun! In times where getting older seems to be trickier to navigate, I want to remind us all, it’s OK to not always have it together, but you can still find the answers!

Filming for Making Conversation is officially wrapped! We’re thrilled to have completed production on this heartfelt romantic comedy about love, loyalty, and dinner party disasters — and now we need your help to bring it across the finish line.

Your support through this campaign will directly fund compensating cast and crew, and post-production: editing, color correction, sound design, music licensing, promotion and festival submission fees. This is the crucial final phase that transforms all our hard work on set into the polished film we’re excited to share with you!

Our goal is to complete post-production by fall 2025, with the film premiering at festivals starting in early 2026. As a supporter, you'll be the first to know how and when you can see Making Conversation — whether through festival screenings, private links, or community screenings.

If we’re fortunate enough to surpass our $9,000 goal, stretch funds will go toward:

  • Hiring a composer and/or sound mixer
  • Expanding our festival run
  • Creating promotional materials and hosting community events

How you can help:

  • Pledge any amount — every contribution counts!

We can't wait to bring you into the world of Making Conversation. Whether you contribute, share this campaign, or spread the word, your support means everything to us.

Let’s make something unforgettable — and maybe a little chaotic — together!
