In 2016 the series Wynonna Earp debuted on television and fans flocked to the series. Fans dedicated themselves to not only uplifting the television show, but also each other. Calling themselves Earpers, they made a worldwide impact. We will celebrate Earpers and share their amazing stories.

Mission Statement

As filmmakers, we were so impressed at what Earpers have done for their favorite show. The fandom has raised funds in the name of the series, launched conventions around the world and supported each other in astonishing ways. We feel their stories need to be told and they need to be celebrated.

The Story

Where They Go, We Go is fiscally sponsored by The Film Collaborative, a 501(c)3 organization. ALL donations to this campaign are tax deductible.

In 2018 I attended a convention with the cast from a streaming series that I am a part of.  Within hours of arriving on the convention floor I had met so many Earpers, fans of the sci-fi series Wynonna Earp, all of which were offering help in setting up our booth, offering bottled water, and sharing their excitement for the weekend con.  They also shared their love of a series I had heard of but knew little about.  During this weekend I received an education on Wynonna Earp and witnessed the passion these fans have for their favorite "shit-show."  I returned home after the weekend and watched the first two seasons of Wynonna Earp - and I was hooked!

In 2020 when the pandemic hit my neighbor Adriana, who is our film's cinematographer/editor, and I often chatted about a variety of things to pass the time.  Earpers and the incredible things they had done to support the show and to support charities in the name of the show often came up. We realized this passion for the show was extraordinary and their stories needed to be told on film.

Starting in early 2022 we will begin visiting and talking with Earpers across the globe. We will hear their stories and find out what attracted them to Wynonna Earp.  Stories will touch on topics such as Found Family, the fan presence on social media, diversity and inclusion in the fandom, and fans that travel worldwide for Earper conventions. Several of these stories touch on the difference the show has made in people's lives. Our plan also includes meeting with some of the Earpers involved with the livestreaming of billboards in support of the series in Times Square aka Earp Square. Their livestreams brought fans from around the globe to view billboards that they created and paid for to promote the series and became a weekly viewing ritual over several months. As many of the cons will end after this year now is the time to capture these stories on film. Lifelong friendships have been made because of this series and we want to explore how the show has brought so many together.

Help us make this happen by supporting our Seed and Spark campaign. We have an assortment of incentives your can pick up to help fund our project or you can make a pledge of any amount without receiving an incentive.  Be sure share the link to the campaign with friends and on social media.  Once we have reached our goal we will have a stretch goal to add some animation and other goodies to film.  We have some fun things planned but before we can announce them we need to reach our initial goal.

We want to make a documentary feature film that Earpers will be proud of.

Where will our contributions go?  Your contributions will help us with our travel expenses, location fees, marketing and film festival fees plus post-production.  Post-production includes editing, color correction, sound mixing, copy editing, music, naration, and animation.  We want these stories to not only be seen and heard but to look awesome as well!  The more funds we raise the more extras we can add to our film - and we've got several we want to make happen!

Will you be taking Covid precautions during filming?  Yes, as the pandemic is ongoing we will follow SAG and IATSE Covid safety plans.  Additionally, I am a covid compliance officer and will ensure we are tested prior to travel/meetings, socially distanced on set and wearing a mask to ensure everyone's safety.  Our crew has worked safely over the past six months in LA while following these safety guidelines.

How will I be able to view the documentary film?  We do offer early digital viewing as an incentive as well as a screening incentive in Los Angeles most likely in early 2023.  We also plan on submitting the documentary to film festivals, particularly those which highlight queer films, diversity and inclusion - because we all know Representation Matters!  We will also make it available for viewing online after any festival screenings. Additionally, we have had discussions regarding a screening of the film at a multi-fandom convention in 2023 and I feel sure we can make that happen.

Love me a tax write-off!  ALL donations to this campaign are tax deductible. In accordance with IRS regulations The Film Collaborative (TFC) issues tax receipts. Crowdfunder admin fees and credit card processing fees are deducted before TFC receives the funds. TFC issues tax receipts on the amount they receive minus the fair market value of the incentive you select. Also, you can donate directly through them (without receiving an incentive) here:   https://www.thefilmcollaborative.org/fiscalsponsorship/projects/wheretheygowego

Help us celebrate Earpers and share their amazing stores around the world by supporting our Seed and Spark campaign. You are the one that can make a difference with the project.  Be sure share the link to the campaign with friends and on social media, email, word-of-mouth, however you want!  https://seedandspark.com/fund/where-they-go-we-go-a-look-inside-the-earper-fandom
