Mission Statement

We aim for our film, through creative and storytelling talents, to evoke fear of the night's quiet, alongside unsettling emotions by delving into hidden anxieties, dread, and the core of human nature.

The Story

After a long night fueled by mediocre coffee and endless revisions, a young writer (Scott) leaves his favorite diner well past midnight. Heading home, he notices a hearse slowly trailing him. However, the hearse is not the only thing following Scott… What was supposed to be a simple walk home becomes a terrifying discovery of what lurks in the dark.

Scott

He’s an average guy, a writer, making it work the best way he can. He believes in his art and spends many nights crafting it.

The Driver

He watches from the dark, calculating how and when to take his next victims away in the night. Don’t look at him, because you do… you’re dead.

The Mourners

Unlike typical mourners, they are happy to see their victims rather than sad. They'll seem welcoming with smiles, but steer clear. The Mourners are going to take you to places more horrifying than you can imagine.

HEARSE is a supernatural, atmospheric horror film. Set in a quiet, traditional neighborhood, the story reveals the creeping dread that lingers in the silent night. It plays with your fears of the dark and what is actually real. HEARSE will dig up the nightmarish visions of your subconscious. Sleek and relentless, Hearse embodies genuine horror.

Our love of horror and storytelling brought us together, discussing ideas and narratives that sparked our imaginations.

It is time to use our talents and create something that will terrify and amaze everyone. HEARSE will embody our love for the genre, our respect for one another, and the skills each of us contributes. In horror, we are making our mark, and with your help, we can definitely achieve this.

I'm Viktor, writer and director of HEARSE!

Since I was a precocious teen, I have always enjoyed horror and fantasy stories. The fascinating aspect of these specific genres is how they spark inspiration, present challenges, and push the boundaries of the human experience. Through my short film, HEARSE, I'm aiming to accomplish all this while presenting a truly entertaining experience. With the help of this campaign's funds, I can continue this journey and make my idea a reality. My intention as a Black queer creator is to create opportunities for our community to be seen and celebrated in horror and fantasy spaces. Black creators are not as prominent as they should be in these genres. I want to encourage others to build on the foundation and remix the roles of Black creators within horror and fantasy.

We are raising $15,000 to shoot and distribute our short film by September/October The funds from this campaign will allow us to pay, feed, and support the crew & cast, take the film to production, post-production, and festivals. So, we're definitely asking for your support.

Also check out our incentives, which include behind-the-scenes access, stickers, and the opportunity to watch the film before everybody else. For some of you, we will add your name to the credits of this film because you took the time to promote and donate, and we want to celebrate that on the screen.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!
