The Story

Jeremy's worked at Eden Foods for six years and has nothing to show for it. Sarah's saving so she can exit her relationship—but the numbers don't add up. Alex is their shift manager. He means well—that's part of the problem. Hannah just started last week and already knows this place is broken.
Paradise + Lunch is a dreamy ensemble picture blending the styles of 70s filmmakers Altman, Wenders, and Rafelson with modern voices like Kelly Reichardt and Andrew Bujalski.

We're shooting *Paradise and Lunch* like a 1970s character study. Think *Five Easy Pieces*, *The Last Picture Show*, *Wendy and Lucy*. Naturalistic lighting. Blooming highlights. Long takes that let life breathe.
Our DP, Sancheev Ravinchandran, and our producer + production designer Kristina Juodenas are making every frame special- like Edward Hopper paintings- gloomy light, lonely urban landscapes..

We're shooting in many places to double for Worcester, Massachusetts, home to one of the writers, Joshua Pikovsky. This is a mid-sized New England city with working-class bones and quietly beautiful decay. It's not Boston. It's not New York. It's the kind of place with a very special texture and feel.
The ensemble is a mix of trained actors and non-professionals, lending performances that are often naturalistic, loose, and spontaneous. Many of the people in this film don’t look or sound like mainstream movie talent- they're better.

So how are we pulling off an ensemble film with these additional resources- our answer! We built a custom film software, and you can have early access to it via the donations! Here's a little peak at the production page which handles scene information as well as shotlisting and stripboards! These three things- they typically live in separate softwares. Our software handles them all and more! Check out the incentives and THIS VIDEO (link coming this weekend) for more information!

We're in our final push for doing pickup shoots and we need your help! Here's a little breakdown of what the donated money will be put towards!

Our Seed & Spark video features excerpts from our film with music by the multi-talented artist Holeminer. Their music will feature in the film along with longtime collaborator Arden Yonkers!
Cinematography by Sancheev Ravinchandran, Jordan Tetewsky, Paul Oh, & Aaron Zimmerman.
Production design by Kristina Juodenas and Charlie Turner.
