Evan, carrying faeces in his stomach for months to produce fertiliser and solve a crop failure amid an agricultural crisis, is torn between duty to the government and his love for Ada, who opposes his decision. The representation of women’s pain through a male figure is what makes this story unique.

Mission Statement

The story explores the pressures society puts on women to risk their health during pregnancy. By switching gender roles, it aims to foster dialogue and reflection on the importance of respecting those who choose pregnancy.

The Story

The film introduces us to Ada and Evan, a couple who have been facing food shortages due to an agricultural crisis caused by phosphorus depletion in the soil. Although Ada heavily opposes it, Evan decides to join the harvest-saving program, a new government program that requires men not to defecate for nine months, in order to produce enough fertiliser to feed the population. As the effects of the "pregnancy" continue to change Evan’s body, the relationship between Ada and Evan deteriorates, as the two struggle with their new reality. The couple must find a way to deal with both the waste in Evan’s body and the strain on their relationship.

The story reflects on motherhood through a male prism and aims to spark discussion about the respect due to women who put their bodies on the line by choosing to give birth.

Created by a diverse crew of student filmmakers from countries where women’s rights and their role in society are constantly being challenged, Full of It is a film that swaps gender roles to reflect on motherhood, parenthood in an unstable world, and one’s duty to society.

In order to tell the story of Ada and Evan, we will need the public’s help to bring Full of It from merely a script to reality. We are currently raising money for equipment, locations, and props to ensure the film’s authenticity and to convey the story in the best possible way.

Regarding our film references, we have chosen works that combine key elements of our project: unstable and absurdist government functioning in The Death of Stalin, class inequality in Parasite, and a character’s personal journey as he seeks the path he must take in The Lobster. These films combine not only narrative elements but also stylistic choices that best suit our specific story.

The film is a tragicomedy with elements of romance. This approach allows us to present Evan and Ada’s journey in a way that helps the audience empathise with the situation and the characters more effectively.

As Full fIt is a graduation film, the production will be a fun but hectic experience. The estimated production timeline is as follows:

Pre-Production

April 13 – May 30

Production

June 1 – June 20

Post-Production

July 1 – December 20

Premiere Screening

December 2026

Festival Run

December 2026 – December 2027

As it is a student film, we have limited options for securing funding. Although we are investing all our energy and creativity to breathe life into this story, we still require financial support to bring it to completion.

Production design and locations are major budget items, as the authenticity of an agricultural-crisis dystopia is essential to the story. The film’s effectiveness relies on strong world-building.

$2,000 is our essential goal, crucial for getting this rocket off the ground. If we exceed it, the film will have a better chance of achieving a professional final result and a successful festival run.

$3,000

We will expand the list of potential filming locations, increasing the chance of finding the most authentic places that fit the story.

$4,000

The film will get the highest-quality props, including medical equipment for surgery scenes, a character’s apartment, authentic decorations, and fine garments for the cast.

$5,000

The film will get top-tier gear: prime lenses for the camera and powerful lighting, giving us more flexibility during production.

$7,000

The film will receive professional festival distribution through the distribution company, increasing its chances of reaching viewers.

About This Team

MIKE

Director

I am a filmmaker from Yekaterinburg, the capital of Russian street art, with more than nine years of experience in short films, music videos, and video art. I believe that visual and audiovisual media offer one more way to gain new experiences and share stories. My work includes the award-winning music video On the Other Side of the River and experimental films and video art exhibited nationally and internationally. I have also founded the social project Golden Sky, which supports people in difficult emotional situations, and led a team of more than 80 international artists to complete it.

The Full of It movie, in particular, seeks to spark discussion about the respect due to women who put their bodies on the line by choosing to give birth.

BIAMCA

Producer

Hi, I’m Biamca, a producer from China now based in London. I have studied Film and Television Production and am currently pursuing an MA in Film. I am drawn to producing for the process of turning ideas into reality. I have worked on multiple short films in roles including director, producer, and scriptwriter, which has given me a broader understanding of how different parts of filmmaking connect and rely on one another.

I was drawn to this project not only for its story but also for its challenges in coordination, sensitivity, and execution. Our team works closely with a strong sense of trust and care, and I truly value the process of building something from the ground up together, shaping it through collaboration and gradually bringing it into being.

SIMON

Director of Photography

I graduated from Nanjing University of the Arts in China, majoring in Film and Television Production. I have worked as a director of photography on nearly ten narrative short films, driven by a strong interest in visual storytelling.

I am particularly drawn to this project for its focus on human rights and systemic oppression, and I hope to express these themes through visual language.

AVERY

Production Designer

Hi! I’m Avery, a production designer from the United States. Art was the first love in my life. I always knew that it was a field I wanted to go into. While working towards my BFA Art and Design degree from the University of Michigan, I realized my love for working in film after randomly signing up for a film class that counted towards my credits. I discovered that I could use props, costuming, and sets to create a grounded world for the story being told, and it fulfilled a part of me like nothing had before. This is why I decided to get her an MA at the University of the Arts London.

The more dystopian setting of the world of Full of It is what drew me to this project, and after learning the social themes of the film, I knew that I had to work on this. Coming from a political background, using art as a way to encourage conversations about the world is something that I have always wanted to achieve with my work, and this project allows me to do so.

DEX

Editor

I am a film editor from China with five years of experience in film production and post-production. I was drawn to editing because I see it as a form of secondary creation, where structure and rhythm are reshaped to strengthen a film’s emotional impact. I have worked across narrative, documentary, and experimental short films, with one of my works selected for an international film festival. I was particularly interested in how editing constructs narrative tension and redefines the relationship between image, time, and audience perception.

I joined this project early on, as I was deeply engaged with both the story and the collaborative process with the entire team.
