The Story
WHO IS FRANTIC ROMANTIC?
We're a a Los Angeles-based band with heart-piercing anthems and over-the-top live shows. It all started in 2012 with one singer (Mr. Kerosene) and one guitarist (Rube Walker). Two separate bands on the same bill. Flash forward to 2024 and these two have joined forces, along with Ruben's childhood friend and longtime collaborator Ziek Zero, and southern California's most charming Brazilian bassist, Marcelo the Fellow. And all we care about is making great music, sharing that with people, and giving you the time of your life. Check us out on SPOTIFY, INSTAGRAM or our WEBSITE!
WHAT'S THIS PROJECT ABOUT?
We've been working on an album for the last few years, and it finally came out last October. The new single for it is the Art of Letting Go. It's a song we wrote during the pandemic and it served as a way to deal with some difficult relationships. The end result was a kind-of therapy song that gave us peace through the pain. We want to bring some of those deeper themes to our next music video, but have a sense of humor about it too. And that's how we came up with our BIG IDEA.
THE STORY...
The setting is a birthday party in the year 1999. When our Cassette tape is ejected from his tape player and cast aside for a shiny new CD - he's understandably jealous. What follows is an epic brawl between the Cassette and CD, each fighting to hold onto their relevancy. But is it already too late?
There will be action. There will be emotion. There will be two actors in giant foam costumes having a slapstick fight. And we can't wait to bring this to life. Because in a current culture that rushes past old tech in favor of the new, this video will serve as a playful reminder that every era has its own time, charm and worth.
WHO'S ON OUR TEAM?
With every Frantic Romantic music video, we try to do something unique and different - and this time, we're working with a professional filmmaking team. Supporting this project helps bring a unique, entertaining idea to life and gives a boost to our team of passionate musicians and filmmakers eager to showcase their talents!
WHAT'S NEXT?
We have so much already done: storyboards, shotlists, locked locations. But what we don't have yet is the cash. That's where we need your support. Any amount will help us get the things we need for the shoot - gear, actors, insurance, giant cassette tape costumes. And all of the money raised will go directly to production of the music video THIS SPRING. When it's finished, our backers will be the first to know, and we'll be releasing it online for the world to see.
